Work with PowerExplorer application is organized by two methods. The choice of method depends on carrying capacity of INTERNET channel of the client.
Direct access of application through Internet.
In case of direct access POWER EXPLORER application is installed on the client’s computer. Application is connected to access server through Internet, sends requests and receives information to the user’s computer. In this case capacity of Internet channel dedicated for POWER EXPLORER application shall be not lower than 512 kb/s.
Terminal access through Internet.
Software Metaframe Access Client is installed for the user; through this software the remote (terminal) access to POWER EXPLORER is implemented. Application POWER EXPLORER is launched on special server located in computer network Petrodata Kazakhstan. At that only image of POWER EXPLORER interface is transmitted to the user’s computer. Such connection substantially accelerates data navigation and it is recommended for access to bank for companies which cannot provide channel 512 kB/s for application POWER EXPLORER.
Data acquisition from data bank can be fulfilled by several methods. The client can choose any method of data acquisition. The choice of method also depends on information content.
Receipt of information up to 700 Mb
POWER EXPLORER function is used for order of selected information. The data from bank are recopied (unloaded) to FTP site of the client. The data from FTP site are recopied by the client to his own computer by means of FTP software. Speed of data acquisition depends on carrying capacity of Internet channel.
Receipt of information of more than 700 Mb.
POWER EXPLORER function is used for order of selected information as described in 2.1. The data from bank are unloaded to special server of data bank. After that the data are copied by employees of PETRODATA KAZAKHSTAN to medium - CD, DVD or 3590 and sent to the client by post or other stipulated method.
